Threaded cylindrical couplers and anchors for construction rebar Ø16–40 mm — standard, transition, anchor and position. Full-strength weld-free splice per GOST 34278-2024.

Standard cylindrical thread — a joint of bars of the same diameter.

Joint of bars of different diameter.

End anchor with a bearing plate.

Anchor with an enlarged bearing area.

With right and left thread (R/L) — without rotating the rebar.

With a lock nut — fixing and protection against loosening.

Positional three-piece — fixed bars.

Welded — one end is welded to the rebar or embedded part.

Bolted — clamped with locking bolts, no bar rotation.
A threaded cylindrical coupler is a steel connecting sleeve with an internal metric thread that mechanically joins two rebar bars into a single working splice without welding or lapping. A thread is formed on the bar ends by a thread-rolling machine (without removing metal or weakening the cross-section), after which the bars are drawn together by the coupler with a torque-controlled wrench. The finished splice is full-strength to the rebar body — its load capacity is no lower than the bar itself.
Such couplers are used on all load-bearing reinforced-concrete structures: columns, walls, pylons, floor and foundation slabs, pile caps, bored piles. A threaded connection is the base technology for splicing rebar Ø16–40 mm of classes A400, A400C and A500C, where a predictable full-strength splice and construction-supervision acceptance are required.
Mechanical rebar splices are governed by GOST 34278-2024. It sets the requirements for strength, deformability and fatigue endurance of the splice: the connection must withstand a load no lower than the bar's nominal resistance and stay serviceable under alternating and cyclic loads. Lomax couplers are tested to this GOST; each batch comes with a quality certificate and test report.
Installing a threaded coupler needs no certified welder, no preheating and no on-site electricity, and is done in any weather. A thread is rolled on the bars, the coupler is screwed onto the first bar, then the second bar is inserted and the joint is tightened with a wrench to the nominal torque. For bars that cannot be rotated there are right/left-hand thread versions (Type AB) and three-part position couplers (Type AF).
Threaded cylindrical is the most common and economical solution for standard frames. Tapered coupler with a tapered thread is more convenient to install and less sensitive to misalignment. Swaged (press) coupler is installed by cold pressing with a hydraulic press right on site and needs no thread cutting — it's chosen when there is no access to the bar end for rolling. A comparison of technologies — in the article "Threaded, tapered and swaged couplers".
Unlike a lap splice, a coupled joint needs no rebar overlap of 30–50 diameters — this saves up to 25% of rebar at splices and relieves congested nodes. Unlike welding, it needs no certified welder, weld quality control or preheating, and splice consistency does not depend on the human factor. A detailed breakdown — in the article "Coupler vs welding vs lap splice".
The base version is the Type B threaded cylindrical coupler (splice of same-diameter bars). Price shown "from", depends on batch volume; exact dimensions for each version (transition, anchor, lock-nut, position) — in the cards above.
