Standard swaged coupler, length class 8D: press length L = 8×Ø of the rebar.
The straight swaged LX-Press 8D coupler joins two bars of the same diameter by cold pressing with a hydraulic press, without cutting a thread. Class 8D means the swage zone is 8 rebar diameters long.
Working joints on site, including on cut and contaminated rebar where a thread cannot be cut. Class 8D is used when an 8×Ø swage zone is required.

8D is the press-zone length: L = 8×Ø of the joined rebar (128 mm for Ø16, 320 mm for Ø40). The higher the class, the longer the swage zone and the higher the splice capacity.
